Ray Bradbury's Prunes Commercial
I saw this on BoingBoing and it tickled my funny bone.
Just an average guy trying to make sense of his life in the library and beyond.....
One of the things I did while on the Olympic Peninsula was go on a hike at Mt. Walker, which is located near Quilcene, WA twenty-five miles south of Port Townsend and Fort Worden. At the trailhead, we bumped into a gentleman I sailed with at the San Juan Islands. He was climbing down from the top of the mountain whereas we were just starting. According to my uncle, this man is trying to keep in shape for a long hike with his daughter along the mountains that are the West Coast equivalent of the Appalachian trail.
With the exception of an hour delay at the Denver airport because of thunderstorms, the trip from Seattle to KC went well. I got home late tonight and had to scavenge for my dinner. Monday, I'll grocery shop and organize my pictures from the trip.
It has been since October 2006 since I've been here and it is still exhilarating to visit this library. As I did last time, I walked the twenty blocks from the hotel to the library. And as I did last time, I arrived an hour prior to the library's opening. So to kill time, I went to Starbucks a block away, ordered a grande caramel machiatto, and read the newspaper and made a few phone calls.
Anyhow, that's my story here and I'm sticking to it. I did take some pictures with my digital camera and some of the pics may make their way to this blog.
I resume work next Tuesday in Kansas City.
