Making fun of the Digital Media Age
I appreciate Brian Williams' sense of humor as he delivers these remarks.
Even when I try to describe digital media to uninformed library patrons, their reactions mirror William's statements.

One more day of work, then five days away from work
I have to go in late for work today....and I'm not looking forward to the drive. The Kansas City area is supposed to get a wintry mix of weather this afternoon. And when we usually get this wintry mix, driving becomes adventurous.
Wishful thought for me: I hope they allow us to close early tonight. (which won't happen)
Wishful thought for all who humor me and read this blog: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!

All in the name of silliness...and the Muppets, too
Poor Beaker. He cannot be afforded the simple pleasures in life in singing "Ode to Joy" by Ludwig Van. In recognition of my appreciation of the Muppets, Ludwig Van Beethoven, and the movie "Clockwork Orange," where "Ode" is heard, here's Beaker making a valiant attempt. Enjoy!

New GM on the way for the Chiefs
Every sports fan has an opinion. Here's mine: The Jack of all Trades and Master of None was finally forced to be honest.....with himself. Good luck Mr. Hunt in finding a new administrative staff for the Chiefs.

In recognition of another KC LIbrarian
Congratulations to Carol Levers who was recognized as a "I Love My Librarian" award winner by the Carnegie Corporation and The New York Times. As of this writing, she is in New York's Times Square with the other winners.
I first met Carol at a graduate assistant pizza party and was thrilled to discover at the start of my library job that she was working at the same library. He story is incredible.
Click here for the announcement of winners and even the nomination letter by our retired branch manager.
Way to go Carol!!!
