Aeration of the yard

I had my first experience with an aerator as I perforated my lawn late Saturday afternoon. The aerator is a bulky, heavy machine and it requires knowledge of throttling. If you throttle too much, the machine will run quickly on you. If you throttle too little, you don't go anywhere. Also, for every pass on your lawn, you have to lift and reset the spikes every time you turn around. I was grateful that MS came up from Shawnee to help me. The machine is heavy weighing about 270 pounds, I believe.
